California Young Reader Medal

Each year our students participate in the California Young Reader Medal where books are nominated and then voted for by children in California. After weeks of read-alouds in the library, students get to cast their ballot for their favorite book and help choose which book wins the California Young Reader Medal!

Meet Your Librarian

Welcome to the library! My name is Mrs. Fernandez (formerly Miss Leonard) and I am the Library Media Technician here at Oakley. I have a Bachelor's Degree in English Literature and am currently working on my Master's Degree in Library and Information Science. I live in Martinez with my spouse and 2 cats, Percy and Nico. I love reading, arts and crafts, traveling, writing, and spending time with family. I want to help everyone discover the joy of reading!
