If you have just moved into the Oakley Union Elementary School District (OUESD), Welcome! We are excited about your student’s entry into our school district. To make the transition easier, we have put links to important resources on this one page. This information can also be found under other menu items on the OUESD website. Schools and Attendance Boundaries:
Oakley Union Elementary School District is comprised of 7 elementary schools and 2 middle schools serving more than 5,200 students and their families. Students are enrolled in a school based on their address.

Please be advised that because we are a growing community, placement at your neighborhood school may not be possible. While we can assure you placement within our school district, we cannot guarantee placement at your neighborhood school.
Note: For those families living west of Empire Avenue in Oakley, you are currently in the Antioch Unified School District. For more information, call (925) 779-7500.
Enrollment
Enrollment is for students who are new to the school district. Enrollment occurs throughout the school year when a new student, living within the OUESD boundaries, is going to begin attending an OUESD School. Students will be enrolled in the district once and automatically enrolled each year. Student enrollment is handled by the School of Residence. Please begin this process by going to your school of residence directly.

Kindergarten Enrollment:
To enroll in Kindergarten, the child must be five (5) years-old on, or before, September 1, 2025 for the 2025 - 2026 School Year. Children who turn 4 years old by September 1, 2025 may register for Transitional Kindergarten for the 2025-2026 school year. Enrollment documentation (listed above) is required for kinder and transitional kinder enrollment.

What is Transitional Kindergarten (TK)?
Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is a bridge between preschool and kindergarten. It provides young learners a head start and the opportunity to learn and grow in an environment tailored to meet their academic and social needs. District Calendars
OUESD operates on a modified traditional school calendar. Classes usually begin in late July, with a 10-day break in October, a 10-day break in March, and a two-week winter break. Summer break is approximately eight weeks beginning with the second week in June. View Current District Calendars
Bus Information
Bus Transportation for our students is provided by the Liberty Union High School District Transportation Department. For rate and route information, please contact the Transportation Department at 925-634-2700. The busing application is available for download here in English and Spanish. These forms also include considerable information about transportation fees, eligibility for free transportation and rules for students who ride school buses.
